The hardest part to playing any instrument is putting in the practice. Even all these years later, it's something I struggle with as well. I find that unless the student has something to look forward to, it's hard to find the motivation to keep playing. Being a part of an orchestra is a solution but sometimes there aren't any local orchestras to join. That is why it is important that my students prepare for a recital at the end of each term.
